Participation in this year’s summit of world market leaders

SPHEREA was part of the summit meeting of world market leaders on 29th – 30th of January 2020. This meeting, with its approximately 500 participants, is the largest meeting of actual and potential world market leaders, consultants and decision-makers in Germany. In addition to topics such as corporate responsibility in climate change, the balance between tradition and technology, SPHEREA was also interested in discussing the success factors of medium-sized companies: People, politics and innovation.

Appointment to the Senate of the German Economy

Martin Kugelmann was appointed to the Senate of the German Economy. He represents Spherea GmbH as a senator in the senate. The certificate of appointment was overhanded at the annual convention of the Senate on 30 November at the Maximilianeum (Bavarian Parliament) in Munich by the President of the Senate of Economics, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Franz Josef Radermacher.

The Senate of the Economy is composed of personalities from business, science and society who are particularly aware of their responsibility towards the state and society. Together, they contribute to the practical implementation of the common good-oriented goals of sustainability in the sense of the eco-social market economy. The Senate of Economics thus revives the traditional idea of the senates in ancient times. SPHEREA’s Annual Christmas Donation

To help people in difficult life situation, SPHEREA supports the Tafelläden Ulm, Alb-Donau-Kreis and Ulm’s kleine Spatzen each with a donation of 2.500,00 Euro.

The non-profit organization “Tafel” creates a balance between food surplus and food shortage: the voluntary staff collects good-quality food which would end up in the garbage and sells it to authorized people. (Quelle: drk-ulm.de)

The organization „Ulm’s kleine Spatzen” enables children memorable hours to distract the attention from their fate. The children are invited to activities like baking in a bakery, the visit of a leisure park, the cinema or a basketball game in the ratiopharm-arena. (Quelle: ulmskleinespatzen.de)

SPHEREA is now also spatially “Ready 2 Grow”

Last week SPHEREA opened the new premises on another floor of the Plaza Center in Ulm, Söflingen. Since the spin-off from Airbus Group in 2016, the number of SPHEREA employees has more than doubled, so that the previous office space has become too small. With this step to more office space, SPHEREA is now “Ready 2 grow” further.

From 29th to 31st October 2019 the annual event “Combat Helicopter” with the new name “Global Defence Helicopter” will take place, for the 7th time, in Dresden Germany. International operators, program teams, technical specialists and the industry will meet at this exhibition to take stock of the latest operational, training and program trends and exchange ideas and experience. SPHEREA is also one of the exhibitor. We would be delighted to present our product portfolio to you personally. At our stand you will find everything about customer-specific, digitized testing and simulation systems in complex, electronic and safety-critical environments.

The SPHEREA Forum 2019 was a complete success!

We would like to thank all participants of the SPHEREA Forum 2019. The Forum was a complete success! Altogether we could welcome over 170 of our customers, partners and suppliers of railway technology, the military, the aircraft industry, various industry associations and Spherea employees.
In addition to the panel discussion, exciting presentations, a product show and various workshops on the subject of “Availability of different platforms” took place and there was plenty of time to exchange ideas and experiences.
Many thanks also to our employees, because without the energetic support of each individual, such an event would not be possible.

We are happy to be part of the FIFAA project!

The project FIFAA „Fit for the working world with autism“ supports people with autism to start their working life. Social communication is expected in today’s working life however people with autism pay less attention to social signals and more to small details.

The aim of the project FIFAA is to help autistic people to make a smooth transition from education to work by improving compensation strategies and to support the company by hiring autistic people.

Membership of LR BW, Forum Aerospace Baden Württemberg

Spherea is now member of LR BW, the Forum Aerospace in Baden Württemberg. The LR BW is a representative for the industry in the Southwest in the fields of economy, science, politics and society. For Spherea, this is an opportunity to complement its work in the BDLI by exchanging ideas with the strong medium-sized businesses in our sector in southern Germany and to advance common interests. Martin Kugelmann, Managing Director of Spherea Germany and Rolf-Jürgen Ahlers, Head of LR BW and Managing Director of ProxiVision GmbH (one of Spherea’s business partners) met at the Pairs Airshow in Le Bourget.

Collaboration agreement of Spherea & Elettronica

During the AOC EW Europe Show in Stockholm, Elettronica and Spherea signed an agreement for a collaboration on EW test solutions for ESM/RWR suites installed on helicopters. With reference to the German NH90 Navy helicopter program, Elettronica is proposing its Radar Warning Receiver ELT/160, already selected by Italian Army and Italian Navy for their TTH fleet, Spherea supplies end-to-end test solutions to be used directly on the platform. Working together shall lead to added value for armed forces, in a first step for Germany and afterwards for other Nations interested in such testers, too. Elettronica and Spherea are intended to offer to BAAINBw a study in order to analyze the best technical solution for testing the ESM suite of the NH90 Navy.

German Excellence Price in Bronze for Spherea

We were awarded by the initiative Ludwig-Erhard-Preis e.V. (ILEP) with the German Ludwig Erhard Excellence award in bronze for entrepreneurial excellence.

Experienced assessors of ILEP were able to convince themselves during an intensive assessment especially of professional project management in complex, international projects as well as a high employee and customer orientation of Spherea. The strategy is consistently implemented in target oriented processes. “All employees are involved in the definition of the company and process targets. The high involvement of employees leads to a high identification and implementation strength, which distinguishes us positively from other medium-sized companies.” says Martin Kugelmann, the Managing Director of Spherea GmbH. “This is not only important for the satisfaction of employees, it also leads to a holistic high quality and customer satisfaction.”

To develop the company continuously, the management team of Spherea GmbH is looking for the exchange with other companies in the field of innovation, technology and management systems.

Resulting of a two project for helicopter test benches we rent some new facilities in Dornstadt. The new facilities offer space for addtitional offices as well as enough space for our integration center.

The Railway Forum is after the INNOTRANS the most important networking event for railway industry in Germany. Sponsored by Deutsche Bahn all major players in the German railway market participated. The event is a combination of an exhibition, a forum, workshops and facilitated networking. The participants are decision takers and top managers. Spherea contriubuted with a booth presenting ATEC Dyna, U-TEST and Lille project. We had the chance to use the personal contact through the Railway Forum to create a basis for good cooperation.

SPHEREA GmbH donates for Charity

Christmas is the children´s greatest event which make the kids’ eyes shine. SPHEREA wants to support the smile of these children´s eyes who may not be feeling good. Therefore the employees decided this year again to support the “Drachenkinder” with a donation. We would like to thank you for the great donation in the amount of 3,333 €. After a bazar of old furniture SPHEREA gives further 800€ to the “Drachenkinder”.

SPHEREA GmbH opens a new location in Plaza Center Ulm

Götz Maier, Managing Director of Südwestmetall in Ulm, praised the company for bounding on collective agreement. This is a clear sign of the appreciation of employees. Heiko Wegert, Chairman of the Workers Council emphasized the good cooperation with the management. As a representative of the city of Ulm, Ulrich Soldner thanked SPHEREA for the long-term commitment in Ulm. A healthy mid-size company is the base for an economic success in Ulm. Jonas Pürckhauer from the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) in Ulm saw the continuous growth of SPHEREA. This confirms the good conditions for companies in Ulm.

A new location for SPHEREA GmbH in Plaza Center Ulm

The successful company SPHEREA GmbH has been separated from the EADS Group two years ago and restarts its business now with new premises at the Plaza Center in Söflingen. To the opening of the new building 120 international guests had followed the invitation. Managing Director Martin Kugelmann: “SPHEREA is very glad to found modern, high-quality offices and laboratories at the Plaza Center in Ulm. With this restart we can get involved long term as a technology company in Ulm.”

EW Europe is the key event for the Electronic Warfare community. It provides a unique platform to view the latest equipment and systems from the world’s defence industry

Electronic Warfare Europe show is a central event for all key players in the EW sector, gathering companies from all around the world. Last time it took place in Rotterdam on 10th till 12th of May 2016.

Electronic Warfare covers a huge field of military activities which purpose is mainly to intercept and blur the information exchanged on the enemy’s communication links. It also includes self-protection, standoff, escort jamming, and antiradiation attacks.

SPHEREA has a considerable experience in the EW market but this know-how was gained as SPHEREA was still known under Cassidian Test & Services name. Engineers from Ulm protect helicopters from rockets

The company SPHEREA has emerged from the Airbus Group – 25 employees in Ulm

After the handover of the filed camp in Kundus, German soldiers in north Afghanistan are only stationed at Camp Marmal. With the helicopter type NH90, injured persons were taken to a safe place. This means landings on the battlefields, on unknown terrain, perhaps under the bombardment of insurgents. The reassuring for the pilots: The ten-ton high-tech helicopter is equipped with a self-protection system. This system ejects automatically “decoys” during an attack, which distract the rockets. Ulmer engineers are responsible for the fact that this system works in case of an emergency.
